Well… it should be. Somehow I totally forgot that I had intended on making a ‘Power Rangers’ comparison in my review of “G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra”. Fortunately someone else noticed the similarities and used the power of Photoshop to express their sentiments, better than I could have anyway. Check out the whole image here. Well done, sir. Gamers rejoice! The long awaited Batman: Arkham Asylum
hits store shelves tomorrow!
In an early review; Gameplanet calls Batman: Arkham Asylum the “Best. Batman. Ever,” giving the game 8.5 points out of a possible 10. From Gameplanet:
“Everyone stand up and give Batman: Arkham Asylum a round of applause and a pat on the back.
It has done what many were beginning to say was impossible… delivered a good – nay, a great Batman game; possibly the greatest of all time! With its simple yet fun gameplay, brilliant voice-acting, interesting story, and great sense of environment and atmosphere this is the first game to truly make you feel like The Bat. And what would any great Batman adventure be without The Joker pulling some of the strings?
The story begins with Batman delivering the Clown Prince of Crime to the Asylum only to have him break out, release the prisoners, and take control. It is, of course, up to Batman to find out what he is up to and stop him. The story is good and takes a lot of interested twists and turns. Pacing can be a problem due to one particular game feature but I’ll go into more detail on that later. The voice acting for all the characters is excellent, however Mark Hamill’s Joker steals the show as he taunts you throughout the game!“
If only Bruce Wayne spent more money an making Arkham a more secure asylum, than on Bat-toys, he might have more of a personal life.

Looking for something fun to do this Friday night? Then you should head over to Challengers Comics for the Filthy Rich Release Party. According to Challengers:
“Its not just a signing; its a PARTY! To celebrate the release of the brand new Vertigo Crime original graphic novel ‘FILTHY RICH’ we’re throwing a party! Over at Movies Online, they’ve got a fun little interview with “Iron Man 2″ star – Sam Rockwell. It’s worth checking out, if for no other reason than the fact that he sites Bill Murray’s character in “Kingpin,” as one of his inspiration’s for his role as Justin Hammer. Sam Rockwell, speaking to Movies Online, about his character development:
“Well, you know, I watched Amadeus, you know, the Salieri character is similar. It was being developed so I wasn’t sure where the character was going, so I watched a lot of actors like Gene Hackman as Lex Luthor and George C Scott in Hustler. I watched Bill Murray in Kingpin. I was trying to get a lot of different things to incorporate. And I did some research on the guns and learned how to handle the guns and talk about the guns and stuff, and that was really all I had to work on. I worked on it the way I worked on everything was with an acting coach named Terry Knickerbocker and we worked on it together. I would get certain scenes and we’d work on it, do some homework and then those scenes would change.“
Don’t get me wrong, I love Sam Rockwell, but I kinda think they shoulda just gone with good ol’ Frank Cross.

Once again, the comic book proves it can fix any problem you through at it. Whether you simply can’t balance your countries checkbook or have trouble maintaining your weight, there’s a comic book that can help. But, what about the Swine Flu? Don’t worry, the comic books got you covered. According to SeattlePi.com:
“Prevention and communication are the top priorities of Seattle-area health and school officials in preparing for the expected return of swine flu this fall.
The Seattle-King County Health Department is producing a comic book aimed at adults to educate them about flu symptoms and how to care for their children and encourage them to plan ahead for backup child care, said Anne Shields, who manages community and school-based partnerships for the department.
The comic book will be translated into the primary languages spoken in the county and written at a level that all adults can understand.“
I fully support this idea and hope that it brings this terrible disease to an end. I just wish that it didn’t require so much effort to make people stop doing it with pigs and/or pork related products, as I believe that’s how Swine Flu is spread and no one can tell me different.
